Postpartum Home Visits

You’ve done so much ahead of time to prepare for your baby, but what happens after they arrive? A postpartum doula has been there and knows how to help you as you begin the journey.

What can I expect?

While care for each new family will look a little different, your doula is able to help with:

  • Processing your birth, chatting about healing, answering some newborn care questions,

  • Feeding- general questions and concerns about breastfeeding or bottle feeding

  • Organizing and figuring out processes- your brain may be a little fuzzy due to lack of sleep so sometimes a little extra organization help can be incredibly valuable for making life a little easier

  • Preparing meals

  • Caring for older siblings and pets

  • Taking care of baby while you shower, nap, tend to other children, run an errand

  • Making a cup of tea, giving a gentle massage, or just being a good listener

Whether you’re looking for someone to spend just a few hours preparing loads of delicious, nourishing meals, or you’d like in home care for weeks, we can figure out a solution that works for you.

I offer my postpartum services at a flat rate of $35/hour. If that is unaffordable for you, I am happy to have a conversation and see if we can find an hourly rate that works for both of us. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need support but don’t think you can afford it.

Alternatively, if you have felt supported and cared for by me and have the means to donate toward care for someone with less financial resources, please contact me!

Postpartum Planning Session - $100

Sometimes it all seems a little daunting and it’s helpful to have someone around who has done it all before.

Postpartum planning sessions are a 1-2 hour visit to your home where we chat, plan, check out your “nest,” and organize things in a way that makes sense for you. While babies love to surprise us, there are some things that are helpful pretty much across the board. We’ll talk about setting healthy boundaries, what kid of a parent you want to be, and the value of being flexible and how to know when to ask for help(which, when you’re newly postpartum, is pretty much ANY time).

These packages and prices are current as of April 2023 and subject to change.
